Internationally known award-winning journalist Jorge Gestoso hosts and produces through his own production company GTN - Gestoso Television News - the nigthly interview show "a la Charlie Rose" "Viva Voz con Jorge Gestoso" in PBS Spanish/V-me, the first 24/7 National Spanish-language Television Network in the US presented by Public Television Stations with a distribution reaching over 50 million households (www.vmetv.com). Jorge manages since June 2004 GTN. GTN also produces a weekly television interview show in Spanish under the name of his host "Jorge Gestoso", which broadcasts since January 2005 in the Latin America, parts of Europe and Asia. GTN also produced weekly reports for BBC World Service Trust, Reuters Foundation and the World Bank's COM+ program (www.complusalliance.org), and newsbriefs for Latin American TV stations. Gestoso has been the face of CNN en Español and the network's symbol throughout the U.S. and Latin America since 1988. For 16 years, Gestoso was the Main Anchor for CNN En Español and he also held the posts of Senior Correspondent in Washington D.C., Senior Editor and Advisor to the President of CNN En Español.

Rolando Santos, CNN International Senior Vice President and CNN en Espanol' Founding President -- Gestoso's Supervisor during most of his career with CNN -- said: "Jorge Gestoso has become synonymous of credible and unbiased information in Latin America and the US Hispanic Market". He added: "In my opinión throughout his service in the Americas, his vast experience with the newsmakers and the world events, let him bring to the audience a unique perspective each time he goes on the air".

Gestoso covered major events of the 20th and 21st centuries, including: the Iraq War, the Afghanistan War, 9/11 attacks, on-site reporting of the fall of the Berlin Wall; the Gulf War; key moments of the Middle East peace process from Madrid and Washington, D.C.; the crisis in Iraq from Kuwait and Jordan; and the Russian elections from Moscow. Gestoso also reported from several war and conflict zones, including Kosovo, Chechnya, Bosnia, Haiti, and the border between Ecuador and Peru. He covered multiple Summits in North and South America and in the process interviewed most of Latin America's presidents.

Gestoso is also well-known for having interviewed major world leaders. He hosted special coverage of Pope John Paul II's historic visit to Cuba, live from Havana.

In 2001, he co-produced and hosted a documentary on the phenomenon of the missing in
Latin America titled "Jorge Gestoso Investiga: La Doble Desaparecida" (Jorge Gestoso
Investigates: The Twice Disappeared), for which he received in 2002 the prestigious Alfred I. duPont Silver Baton award for outstanding investigative reporting from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York.

Among other broadcasting awards, most recently Gestoso was honored with the Spanish-language Television Industry Award (INTE) for Best Male News Personality; Most Outstanding Male Anchor (given by the Association of Hispanic Critics of New York); Best Anchor on Spanish Language Television (from the three major Hispanic critics organizations in the United States); a special Gold Tabaré Award for excellence in journalism; and the Jean Cartier Award. Additionally, the Universidad Tecnológica of El Salvador awarded him the title of "Profesor Meritísimo." Gestoso was the first national evening news anchor for the U.S. Spanish-language television network Telemundo, currently owned by NBC.

Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, Gestoso attended the University of Uruguay. He is fluent in
Spanish, English and French and lives in Washington, D.C.
