@MightyFoFaad Why do you think that a human turned it into anything? If you mean "turned it" by eliminating predators and providing it with excellent feed, then I guess they "turned it", but usually we call this genetics. They didnt do anything "to" these animals.

NO. These are a game species. They are hunted all over the country. That means their numbers are very high AND maintained by the individual states department of Fish and Game. Just in Kansas they harvest 10's of thousands.
