You know, sometimes in life.. You get thrown an unexpected curveball. It happened to me about 4 years ago when I got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. It turned my whole world upside down. There was a choice that I made on the night I got diagnosed.. And I promised myself.. That I wouldn't let it slow me down. That's a moment I hope none of you here tonight will have to face. When my doctor told me that I got diagnosed.. I looked her in the eyes and asked her if I was going to die. She looked back at me with tears in her own eyes and said.. "You're gonna be alright, but this is something you are going to have to deal with for the rest of your life." Recently I've been doing some work to help the Special Diabetes Program in helping researchers find a cure. Although this is something that we can manage, I believe that we CAN find a cure. Now, I know that there are some of you here tonight who are dealing with things in your own life. I had a lot of people come up to me telling me your stories and telling me that this song has inspired you. But the truth is that... YOU are my inspiration. For that part when I said I got diagnosed.. I made a commitment to myself that I wouldn't let it slow me down. And this year alone: I met the president, we were on our second cover of Rolling Stone, we had our second number one album. Now, you tell me. Has it slowed me down?

And I know that each and every single one of you in this audience tonight have been through a hard time in your life before, right? I know that each and every one of you have felt, at one point, like you couldnt go on. But then you found hope. Theres always some way to find hope. Remember that..

..There was a time in my life when I got diagnosed with diabetes, and I thought that Im not gonna be able to live my dream, getting to do what I wanna do. That was three years ago. And I can say, today, that I played for 12,000 people in Chicago.


That happened cause I found hope. How many of you people in this audience tonight need to find hope? How many of you need to find a friend? And how many of you need to feel some peace? Well like I said, thats what this song is about.

And tonight, this song- this song is for you. This song is for every broken heart tonight, and for every lost dream, for every high and for every low. Dont ever forget it. I love the Jonas Brothers. Not just because they are hot and they are talented. I love THEM as people. They make me smile when no one else but God can. They help me find hope and they've made me a better person. They have changed my life and made me who I am today. I don't think I would be anything of what I am without them. Even if they don't know I exsist, they still remain to make me smile when I see them smile, laugh when I see them laugh, and cry when I see them cry. It seems like my friends and family don't understand, they think I'm just obsessed, but I really truly love them.
