The rank and file twoofers are genuinely very stupid people. They talk about all these "facts" and other stupid stuff.
They go through life embarassed at how stupid they are.
So, they make up an elaborate fantasy where the brightest, smartest super-criminal minds in the world pull off the perfectly concealed crime. But,. the twoofers, with their magic "invetigoogle powers" were so much smarter--they were able to uncover the perfect crime. The more convoluted and ridiculous the plot, the more "perfectly" it was concealed, the smarter these morons feel for figureing it out. Its a Scooby-do fantasy where cheney and bush (while being handcuffed) look them in the eye and say "we would have gotten away with it too, if it wasnt for you meddling kids!"
