About Me:

I'm a Master Watch and Clock Restorer active since 1974. I live in the Upstate NY region and I have recently started making my own watches, completely by hand! In 1997 I was featured on Dan DiNicola's World, on WRGB, Schenectady, N.Y., the local CBS TV station, concerning my work. Also in 1997 I was asked to speak at one of the special weekly meetings of the Cambridge Historical Society, Cambridge, N.Y. I was also featured on the local Fox affiliate Fox 23 News, Albany,N.Y., in 2002, 2003 with Carrie Rowland and in 2004 with Keith Galley. I was asked to be a Speaker at the Annual Meeting of The American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute (AWCI) in Portland, Maine in August 2004. In November 2004 I was also asked to speak to the Pennsylvania Watchmakers Clockmakers Association. While in Lititz, PA. I was given a VIP Tour, by Principal Herman Mayer, of the Lititz Watch Technicum, a watchmaking school owned and operated by Rolex SA. In 2005 I was asked to be a part of a short subject film called "The Watchmaker" created for the Canon Corp. The film was such a success, that it was actually taken on 'tour' in the form of a "Live Simulcast". We went to Las Vegas twice, CES and NAB (consumer electronics show and national associations of broadcasters) the two biggest Trade Shows in the U.S. THAT was so successful that Canon then suggested a six city tour! Miami, Chicago, Nashville, Los Angeles, Denver, and New York. It was unbelievable! In January 2006 I was featured in the Times Union Newspaper and in March 2009 Greenbush Life newspaper. The reason for all the hoopla was the fact that I make my own watches-by hand! Most 'handmade watches' are movements and cases purchased then assembled by the maker. I actually make the watch from scratch! The movement plates are made entirely of 18k gold! No other watches in the world look like my watches. Not to mention that the last time anyone manufactured watches in the U.S. was in the 1870's, also in N.Y. I take great pride in producing these works of art called, Mechanica 5mm thick, and Nocturne (quartz) 2.85mm thick!. (That's two pennies!) I call my line of watches "Horological Confections"! Mechanica-Nocturne But to me they are "wonderful little machines".
