I started learning guitar in 1966, then mandolin and G Banjo, following on with banjolele and Irish Bouzouki . I eventually formed a folk group covering Scottish traditional, Sea Shanties, Irish folk songs as well as reels & jigs. I played Bass for a while in a group covering Cream, Hendricks, Quo etc. I then went solo for about six years. I played from 1970 'till 1988 semi pro then gave up gigging for other commitments. I did not give up playing though and still monkey around. Among other instruments, I have an old Harmony Sovereign circa 1959 that I have rebuilt and love to play because of its tonal quality. I enjoy playing many different genres including Celtic folk, English folk, Folk Blues, Country, Bluegrass, 60's and 70's charts. I play guitar Finger Style as well as Flat Pick, Frailing Style and Pluck & Brush Banjo, Kerry Style Bodhran

Hello, I'm the fiddler with Immigrant's Daughter replying to your comment on our "Johnny Lad". First of all I spelled it wrong so I thank you for bringing it to my attention. I used to d's in Lad when it should only be one. The first Johnny Lad is a traditional Scottish reel found in the Lowe's Collection. The second Johnny Lad is a traditional Scottish song. Dougie MacLean does his own version of it on one of his albums.

Thanks for your comment and keep on making music.
