OKAY. The last time I typed this, YouTube went 'damn, woman, that's too long! Condense it, GAWD!' so...let's hope this is short and snappy enough xD
Note to Judges: I'm writing this under the assumption that you aren't familiar with Death Note and this pairing in particular. If you know all about LxLight, then good for you, skip this part. xD
Now, first up, DN is very simply, a fandom without any canon pairings. So it's...like, HARD, to do an AMV with any pairing at all in the series. I hope I don't sound whiny here, but it's true...which is why for this pairing, you REALLY need to use your imagination 8D
basically that means since this isn't a canon pairing, I have no kissing scenes to work with, not even a cuddly hugging moment or anything. The kiss scene you see, therefore, is a fan flash. the still frame at the end - that's a doujinshi snapshot [all credits are at the bottom btw].
Also, there's a lyric timeline down the bottom. You...might wanna skip straight to that instead of listening the following rambling x3

Now, to start, I don't know whether I should thank you guys or wring your necks for giving me the emotion [LOVE]... On one hand, it was very possibly the most educational and beneficial video I could've ever done. I learnt a LOT about editing techniques, scene selections, and making a really difficult pairing come to life in an AMV. But at the same time, it was so damnably hard and rather tedious. xD I didn't have ANY inspiration or 'spark' or some unexplained motivation when I started this, I was like, 'alright, let's go and get this over with...'
But still, I did it. I feel so proud of myself. I deserve an ice cream.

uh ANYWAY, enough about the experience while making this, now about the actual MV itself.
Um...sepia theme. Yus. I had this idea in my head, actually, before YNTV even came along. (And it probably would've never materialized if not for the contest forcing me into the only vaguely 'romantic' video idea I had at the time XD) I knew I was gonna make it sepia. If I could hear in colors, this song would be a sepia song :O
So...yeah. At least I can comfort myself that my colors aren't awful 83 (right? XD)
okay so...the best way to explain this video step by step is a lyric timeline, so...Yeah! Everything you don't get should be explained here 8D
[btw, the video doesn't follow DN's chronological timeline, it's simply a portrayal of their relationship. I SUCK at editing stuff in a linear timeline XD]

- eh, ignore the first line ... =/ There wasn't anything to go with that. As for 'chaos'...Well, let's just say Light really wasn't prepared for the emotional and physical upheaval that came along with L's death :)

- This is really quite open to intepretation, at the same time it's incredibly straightforward. What was the promise? I don't know. But he broke it by killing L. Mmmhm.
The Chorus - ... is lame. xD Not the song, my editing. It's so inconsistent and yucky. yucky yuk yuk

Is harder than I ever feared' - IDK. I SRSLY IDFK. Just...ignore the lyrics and focus on the scene or something xD

These days aren't easy anymore' - Ah. My favorite line in the whole song. The first time I heard it I nearly cried, even now it's still as poignant. I would explain, but...It's pretty clear-cut, no?
The Second Chorus - ... is hopefully better than the first x3
The ending: That's open to intepretation, too! Did they both reign happily ever after in heaven? But wait...that's impossible. Unless you're familiar with wild-filly's 'Mind Games', then YUS IT IS POSSIBLE 8D

I had an editors block, so, despite feeling like doing the exact opposite, I got off my lazy butt and edited. Apparently, it worked. So the antidote for an editing block is to edit...hmmm.
Anyway, I decided to kill two birds with one stone and make it a Light tribute as well. I've had this idea for a very long time now. It's not my usual genre of music, but the first time I heard it (which was some years ago) the lyrics really struck an emotional chord with me, and, a few years later, I've got the perfect character to fit it.
I love Light, even though he's an asshole of epic proportions. but I think that's actually part of why I love him. and I find myself swinging in his favor far more often recently. But it's not fair to say that Light is my favorite, because, I realize, it's only because I can relate to him better. I can feel his joy and pain a lot better than I can feel L's.
anyway, what started this whole idea was the part around 0:39 - 0:40 - "I am right, I swear I'm right". I could see Light in my mind, supine and bloody on the warehouse floor and screaming out to someone, anyone. I thought it was the perfect clip. Hell, Light could run over a kitten with a truck and still justify himself. Stubborn to the bitter end, he is. And so he thought he was 'right', until the end :]

It's been ... -checks- ... Five months since I uploaded my last video. Haha ... I'm so slow. ^^; I apologize for the halt in flow of videos. I didn't expect High School to be so hard. I'm struggling to even get B's and C's. This year's Biology is totally different. We do a lot of labs with microscopes, and to be honest, it really confuses me. Plus there's the fact I audition for every play and musical that comes along. I love drama, but the practice schedules are haywire, especially on tech week.
Well, along with making new friends, I've also acquired a wonderful boyfriend. He actually makes going to school fun for me. Study hall with you is my favorite time of day (unless you come visit me that night. :P ). I'm going to miss it next semester. You make me feel special, and like I have a purpose. I hope you know you could do better than me, and it amazes me that you picked me over everyone else. Sometimes I yell at, snap at, or hit you, but you still put up with me. You can be stupid sometimes, but that doesn't stop me from loving you. Ever. And even though we constantly get yelled at for PDA's, that's not gonna stop me. If I get AR for insubordination, so what? :D
