John G. Stumpf has been Chief Executive officer and President of Wells Fargo & Company since June 27, 2007 and August 1, 2005 respectively. Mr. Stumpf has been Chief Executive Officer of Wells Fargo Bank, a subsidiary of Wells Fargo & Co. since June 2007 and its President since August 1, 2005. He serves as Chief Executive Officer and President of Wells Fargo Bank, National Association. He served as Chief Operating Officer of Wells Fargo & Company from September 1, 2005 ... to June 2007 and Wells Fargo Bank since August 1, 2005. He served as Group Executive Vice President of Community Banking of Wells Fargo & Company of Wells Fargo Foothill, Inc. from July 2002 to August 2005, Group Executive Vice President of Western Banking from May 2000 to June 2002, Group Executive Vice President of Southwestern Banking from November 1998 to May 2000 and Regional President of Texas of former Norwest from July 1994 to November 1998. He is a 25-year veteran and joined the former Norwest Corporation (predecessor of Wells Fargo) in 1982 in the loan administration department and served as Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer of Norwest Bank N.A., Minneapolis. He served in a number of management positions at Norwest Bank Minneapolis and Norwest Bank Minnesota before assuming responsibility for Norwest Bank Arizona in 1989. He served as Regional President of Norwest Banks in Colorado/Arizona since 1991. During his four years in that position, he led Norwest's acquisition of 30 Texas banks with total assets of more than $13 billion. Since 1998, he served as Head of the Southwestern Banking Group (Arizona, New Mexico and Texas) and also served as the Head of the new Western Banking Group (Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming). Since 2000, he led the integration of Wells Fargo's acquisition of the $23 billion First Security Corporation, based in Salt Lake City. He also served as Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Wells Fargo Home and Consumer Finance Group from March 1998 to June 2007. Mr. Stumpf served as Chairman of the Board of VISA U.S.A., Inc. since September 23, 2005. Mr. Stumpf has been a Director of Wells Fargo & Co. since June 27, 2006. He serves on the Board of Directors of Clearing House and Bay Area chapter of Junior Achievement. He also serves as Member of the California Business Roundtable and the Financial Services Roundtable. He serves as the Board of Trustees of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and The Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. He served as a Director of VISA International and Inovant, VISA's payment-processing subsidiary. He served as Director of VISA U.S.A., Inc. He served as Member of Litigation Committee of Visa Inc. Mr. Stumpf earned his bachelors degree in finance from St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud, Minnesota and his MBA with an emphasis in finance from the University of Minnesota.
