Filmed on a Saturday, during the January Sales 1999. I walked along Oxford Street, from Oxford Circus to Tottenham Court Road tube station. It took 30 minutes. Here's 5.
I'm a video artist living and working in London. My videos investigate subject matter, orientation and time. The most recent video "postcards" were made during 2006-7 and explore how removing nearly all motion from a video - almost rendering it a photograph - serves to emphasise any motion that takes place. Other sketchbook works date back as far as 1997. Oxford Circus was made in 1999, partly in response to The Verve's Bittersweet Symphony video of 1997. A 30" test version exists with CGI snow "falling" upwards, but I thought this was distracting. It was originally only a study for a backwards film that I wanted to make, but since then that whole idea has been used to extinction (as has Teardrop (1998) by Massive Attack). The videos are best viewed at their original size (press the button 2nd from right whilst playing), as many originate from VHS. Please comment as I'd like to know what you think.

why not try and integrate the MC Eshcer idea with the oxford circus....walk round the block to the same point where you started out and then start the video over again lol!!! keep it up dude
Very interesting stuff on here. Especially like Camera in a drum. Just wondering are you working towards a project that will incorporate some of the things you have been touching upon within your work?
