  • Hello, "HeroOf Christ." The doctrine of the Trinity is not based on just a few proof texts. It is woven throughout the Scripture, and properly understood, it is non-contradictory. See Chapter 10 of my book, The Beauty of God for a Broken World. Denying the Trinity is dangerous to the soul.

The doctrine of the Trinity is not illogical nonsense. It is necessary for understanding salvation and beauty in nature, art and human relationships.
  • Regarding your final point: The Bible does not teach that suffering is good in itself but rather that God permits suffering (as a judgment for sin) and uses suffering for good and wise purposes. This world is broken; God intends to fix it in His time. The first great step in that healing was to enter this broken world and share its pain and brokenness on the cross.
