By viewing the videos I have posted or linked, you will gain a greater understand of what I stand for. If you feel as I do, I ask for your support throughout this election season.
About Me:

My name is John Brooks and it is my intent to campaign for the open 51st District, California, seat in the U.S. House of Representatives (2012), as a Democrat.

I am a retired federal employee, and graduated from The University of Montana in Missoula, where I majored in Wildlife Biology. My 30-year career in the U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S Fish and Wildlife Service spanned across the country from California to Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, Texas, Illinois, Ohio, Virginia, and New Jersey. During this period, I have held positions in the capacities of: Wildlife Refuge Manager; Wildlife Inspector; Special Agent and Computer Forensics Specialist; and Federal Air Marshal. I retired from federal service in 2008 at the age of 50, and am currently working as a book author/distributor, videographer, musician and volunteer.

Throughout my adult life, I had the invaluable experience to travel to over 25 countries, and studied five languages. Travel has opened my eyes to the realization that there is abundance on this planet for everyone to live a happy, meaningful life while keeping our environment safe. However, sweeping changes need to take place within our system of government in order to bring this realization about. My sole purpose for wanting to represent the 51st District in Congress is to help bring about that change. Until true change takes place within the House and Senate, the lives of the average citizen will not improve significantly. I am speaking of Campaign Finance Reform.

If you endorse my candidacy into Congress, I will do my best to bring change for the benefit of everyone.. Until congressional elections can be financed in such a way that candidates will not feel as if they "owe" contributors anything, real change can not occur. Therefore, I will not make unrealistic promises, commonly bellowed throughout campaigns past and present, that I can not keep.

A real call for accountability in government is taking place and I would like to do my part for society by working within the law making process and putting the United States on track.

I am a real person in touch with the real problems that face our nation and the world. If your organizational core values are in line with the points I have raised, I would appreciate your support.

If elected, I can only promise to do my best to represent the people of District 51, and the people of the United States.
