It's exactly this, MKWii without bikes. I think MK7 is based too heavily on MKWii, I wanted something more different. They made slight changes to the mechanics, like tricks (you now spend much less time in the air but the boost is shorter, blue ramps are removed like the one in the 180° turn of Maple Treeway), burnouts/stand-still MTs are removed, orange sparks take ages to charge when turning the stick in the opposite direction. Handling underwater is atrocious. The positive aspect of the game is the online mode which is much more practical, even though they somehow decided to remove private rooms (wtf?).
