Well I'm a theist, and I think there are aliens out there. In fact, and this is somewhat ironic, I would expect Tipler's Final Anthropic Principle to make the existence of aliens more likely.

Oh something like the odds of intelligence evolving is so insanely small, and it keeps on going down.

Although I tried to tell him that with the ammount of planets there are, it would be virtually impossible for there NOT to be aliens. And there are plenty of reasons why we haven't seen any yet. (some thing we have)

It really just boils down to another theist thinking that one god made us, and ONLY us.

One thing I may want to mention though, (in regards to the fine-tuning part). I do happen to hold to the idea of parallel universes, but that's because I'm a modal realist in philosophy, not motivated by atheism obviously since I'm a theist.
