Artist/ Art Historian.
Schools:
Art School in Groningen (Minerva) and Rotterdam (Academy of Fine Arts) but was expelled from both academies after only 3 years, because my teachers said I didn't have enough talent. Then after the Art School trauma I started studying Art History at the University of Leiden (Holland), graduated succesfully in Iconology & became Master of Arts.
Interests:
Painting, travelling, documenting my journeys in short clips, on film or in oilpaint. Like to hang around with Bears. Also like discovering new unpredictable music (Efterklang), new ways of artistic expression and comedy.
Movies:
On Youtube I like watching art clips, music & wildlife vids. Especially those featuring Ray Mears & his Canadian equivalent Ray Goodwin. Also enjoy watching episodes of Swamp Logger: Bobby Goodson, as I find him very attractive. The reason why I don't like watching movies is because they can take so long. There are very few I can remember that impressed me. But the ones that did were as far as I can recall: The biographical film about Quentin Crisp: 'The Naked Civil Servant', (UK), 'Through the Looking Glass' (UK), 'The Thief of Bagdad' (USA), 'Growing Up in Public with my Pants Down', (USA), 'The Basketball Diaries; (USA), 'Marcelino, Bread & Wine', (Italy) & recently: 'El Perro'.(Argentina). Unfortunately I forgot who the directors were.
Music:
Too much to mention. Wide range, from Mozart to Marilyn Manson.
Books:
Not a big reader anymore.
