this is by far, one of my favorite mozart compositions! i must however, disagree with operamystery, and his choice of this being the best performance ever recorded. i have a version recorded in 1975, in which the soprano soloist was the great ileana cotrubas. i have heard MANY other performances ...

i wish, for just one day,that the politicos & business magnates; and all the rich,powerful and selfish people around the globe, would hear a piece like this, call to their souls and give them cause to do something decent...

this piece has the perfect combination of hope, sorrow, despair, and longing...if only all music could touch the soul like this....there'd be no more war, or misery.this...THIS is what makes REAL human beings move inside; the EXPRESSED desire for something better than ourselves to save us from......

this piece has the right combination of hope and despair....each time i hear it my eyes dampen, and the being that i am inside begins to struggle to escape the confines of this world, and go hurtling through the cosmos.....the video is astounding in that ALL the people in attendance stand silent ...

his guy's voice sounds JUST like gilmour's!
