@jacobji5 You misunderstand me, I of course do not mean that something intervened to prevent the tragedy. I cannot really see how you got that from my comment. I meant that McCain probably says here - the tragedy intervened (ie, interrrupted and changed) changing the course of events.

I agree that not making the small talk and the rappor with people is a problem in politics. But I wouldn't feel too sorry for Bill...he has his own moments!
