We used to do this 40 years ago at Pony Club so not sure I would classify it as natural horsemanship. It is , however, great for your balance and position and won't do your pony any harm at all. You are clearly having great fun together.

This horse is crabbing along with his back legs as though he has a serious problem with his hocks, and as for the string in the mouth coupled with the monkey playing the drums hands, well that's just nasty and I don't see any need for it other than to feed the ego of the rider.
