The diesels have always been plastic, I hate can motors and circuit boards because they won't last as long as the prewar and postwar lionel, most steam locomotives are die-cast metal, in fact every steam locomotive I have up to now is made of metal, only diesels are plastic as they always have been since the fifties.

Yeah, i totally agree with that. Lionel was an american made company for so long, now, even though it's headquarters are here, there's something not right about it.

I have to disagree on Richard Kughn destroying lionel, he's the one who brought it back after general mills and a few other small companies destroyed it.
