I think that meiyko group of kata comes from Shito ryu in general, so some kata will look quite different when adapted to shotokan. This will not take from the effectivness of the particular kata. If U look at bassai in shotokan, in tomari the kata is quite different, but both emphasise open hand...

In lokcing techniques always keep ur option open good stuff here. Sometimes in class we let go on these and it's amaxing what can come out at random in terms of counters.

I have a problem with this redirecting the knife back towards U, is this a bad tactic against someone who is good at the knife even a street fighter. Otherwise some good videos here on the knife and empty hand.

It's good skill, but as one enters the grabbling and ground work nearly always martial artists fail from every style. In grabbling if tecniques come of at random then you know ground work well. Arm bars, figure fours, kneck strangles, should come off from any direction from the ground. not easy

Good empty hand sparring when it comes to grabbling it's another matter locks and takedowns nearly always dont work under pressure, but it's here we need to work more, even beginners can down an instructor by tying one up.

Bunkai is all over the place nowadays but I enjoyed doing kata many moons ago, I 'm sure the likes of Imura, kase, Enode could put away an attacker no problem, it's because they were in it for the right reasons too. It's a long story.

This was adecent film pity TMWTGG was terrible.

I use real fire ashes when cool for weathering none of this expensixe pegment stuff it works well on all fronts, WWI, WW2 ect. Real sand real dirt mixe dwithe glue can give some real results.
