@rampike74 I retried t'other night - used a deluxe 2x SW barlow instead, and dropped the gain right down. tried an unsharp mask in Iris 5.59, and I could make out equatorial bands ! I'll try to do that to the sequence, then stack - see what comes out. next experiment is a contrast filter !

I drew Chieftains mate - but I guess I'm showing me age ! Sherman is iconic though. more so than the british Churchill from that era, even over here. Cracking sketch though - Kenny was very much a never to be repeated phenomenon - sadly missed.

Well, I like it a lot - even as a BIG fan of the books, for me, it stands up as a better interpretation, and way more polished than the Sci-Fi channel. some years ago, we tried to watch video of this version, and we all hated it !

I would make it follow the books more. the realisations of things...

Is this a modified 1004x ? I've tried taking jupiter with mine unmodified cam, 4.5" Newt, 1.6x barlow and the planet is way too bright - although I havent done any processing on it.

60eq - I assume this is a 60mm aperture ? in which case the theoretical maximum magnification is 120x - F15 indicates the f length is 900mm, which means that you should not expect much from anything shorter than 7.5mm, and that is in the absolute best ideal conditions ! might be worth getting a p...

I have a Starwatcher of similar spec - E/p's 5 and 10 mm modified achromats (Kellners) with a single element barlow. I find visually the 10mm is adequate for 4 galilean moons, and a faint southernn equatorial belt. yuo also have the same issue I do, in that you are attempting to video this with a...
