Jimmie Dodd died way to young (in his mid 50's from cancer).

He was such a kind-hearted, beloved man who left us way before his time.

If there's a Rock and Roll Heaven, Jimmie Dodd is the head songwriter.

I live between Indianapolis and Louisville and I can safely say that WLS is a good catch in the entire state of Indiana.

I saw the Bee Gees live at the Miami Beach Convention Center in 1974, complete with 52 peice orchestra. They brought the house down and remain one of my favorite bands of all time.

I must have worked at the only radio station in America that played this single when it was released in 1974 (I still have a Columbia Records promo copy of this). From his album "Widescreen" it's still one of Rupert Holmes' best.

It's a real shame that today's young people must listen to oldies to get the "soul" or "funk" sound that African American's used to be famous for. The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Chi Lites, The Spinners, Al Green, Bill Withers, EW&F, The O'Jays and a ton of others in the 50's, 60's & 70's def...

At 15 seconds into the song you hear the saxaphone playing the melody from Doris Day's "Once I Had A Secret Love".

This is a fabulous tune from his album "360 Degrees of Billy Paul" and another jewel from Gamble/Huff and Philidelphia International. Thanks lryder79!
