Jim was named "Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year.
Written many hits for stars like
Mel Tillis, Dean Martin, Jim Ed Brown, Crystal Gayle, and many others.
Wrote the million dollar hit song
"Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man", was performed by Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn.

"LOUISIANA WOMAN, MISSISSIPPI MAN" has been honored again in 2005. CMT and the CMA named it the second most popular duet in the history of Country Music. Songs Jim written have sold over 30 million copies, and that one song accounts for almost half of those sales. Also, that year, "LOUISIANA WOMAN, MISSISSIPPI MAN" went over ONE MILLION plays on radio and television. Only a handful of songs have sold 13 million copies and even fewer have logged a million airplays. What a song!

JIM is a great Hank Williams fan and has
done many Hank-related tributes,
Jim portrayed Hank in two television movies and won Public Television's highest award for his effort.
Jim won an Emmy for his portrayal of Hank Williams Sr. in a made for TV movie that he wrote and starred in. His show is complete with Hank's songs as well as the music of other legendary artists.

"In May, The Jim Owen Show performed at the Old Creamery Theatre in The Amanas, Iowa, sponsored by the Canopy Masonic Lodge (where Jim is a member). The show was so successful, the Lodge was able to award five scholarships to deserving Clear Creek/Amana High School seniors from the proceeds, according to Larry Osborne, Canopy Lodge Master.

JIM OWEN HAS ADDED HIS signature to the World's Largest Banjo at Grand Country Square
Branson, MO. - On Friday, July 6th, at 4:15 pm, Jim Owen has added his signature to the World's Largest Banjo at Grand Country Square and was a guest star in Grand Country's late night show, Branson Country USA at 11 pm.
Jim's stage performance and audience interaction has made him one of Branson's favourite performers for sixteen seasons.
Jim commented, "I am the luckiest man alive and feel honored to have my autograph added to other great Country Music entertainers."
