@dugongyogurt Not that I know of. The recs from the 40s and forth are probably considered at least good enough to improve as they are. However, I have an LP from the 80s with Charlie 'Bird' Parker, soundtracks from a film I think, where they have filtered out the sax voice and applied a new acko...

As I had some problems applying this to Pr CS3, I happened to discover an easier way to do this: Import the low quality folder, make all the edits, save the project. Then move the folder to another location, or simply remove it. This will force PR to ask for the location of one of the files. Then...

@CrimsonOkami I was just told by another user that one of the reasons for this cold blooded, heartless behaviour in China is that whoever helps another person to the hospital is obliged by law to pay for the medical care. I didn't know that, and that's really a terrible system. Like they wanted ...

The performance is interesting and vivid, and feels more accurate than many other Welte-Mignon reproductions, but the sound is terrible. The transients are basically missing from each note and chord. Are you sure this is what the old LP sounds like? If not, I guess you could have been slightly mo...

@DeLorean4 Both Ampico and Welte-Mignon systems were capable of recording nuances. Grieg made many piano roll recordings. There's no obvious reason to believe that this one is a fake. Also the pianistic style is very typical for the time.

Interesting, the Japanese behind the 30's reissue seem to have added some trumpets to give more punch to it. I don't think Mozart would have been very pleased to hear that, he hated trumpets and used them very sparsely.

@cristobalretesromero Thank you! This very recording was actually the first one I heard, and the only one until I grew up, so I was surprised to finally hear the original. My father had an old LP compilation called 'The Art of Paderewski' (now I have it somewhere) and that's from where I heard it.

@pianoandvideogames What's so funny about that? Okay, it's kind of cute when she refers to people slightly older than herself as 'oldies' , and that she's making jokes about herself being old too, but was it actually that funny, as in CAPITALS funny? The change of subject apparently wasn't hers a...
