Once in this very space, there was some pretty condemantional stuff about battlecrys and preaching at the PSU students. It was wrong. I just want to love people the way Jesus did without judging their issues. A couple months ago, I started to quit being such a fundamentalist. I still am a Chrisitan however.
Age: 37
Not much about me, I am a Christian and a Graphic Design student at Portland State and a junior. I like Punk, metal, and Celtic music.

I used to post some real condemnation preaching here. I was wrong and I apologize to the gay and feminist communities. I have been exploring God's patience, kindness, gentleness, long suffering, joy and unconditional love and I saw a movie on campus that challenged my fundamentalist viewpoints. I as a Christian simply chooses to unconditionally love people no matter their issues, and that includes feminists, Pagans, gays, lesbians and liberals. I want to love others the way Jesus did 2,000 years ago. He drove the fundies of his day nuts when he hung out and ate with the prostitutes and tax collectors. He was crucified by the religious people. I have learned to be more open minded and hope other Christians would not be so fundamentalist in their worldviews and viewpoints. For instance, rape is a far worse sin than simple sex outside of marriage and even if a man forces himself on his wife in marriage, he is guilty of it. Also, though I don't agree with abortion, I will not force my views on others who do not happen to be Christian. I would like to see other Christians not be so fundie in their viewpoints and worldviews.

G.A.P. Display at Portland State University - Part 1
What I used to go around spouting was very nazi-like. I realize that Christians should be the most liberal of them all since Jesus was that way. He disliked the religious people of his day, and I saw a movie on campus that changed my heart and mind on what I beleive. Latelym I have been understanding the more feminie side of God lately and it has been changing me. Sorry for the crap I have been posting both on campus, here and on FAcebook and MYSPACE. Since I posted this video, my views have changed. I have come to realize that it would be wrong for Christians to force their views on others through legislation. I still do not like the idea of abortion, but it is also wrong to force a particular viewpoint on people who are not Christian. Christians should love others unconditionally despite their issues like Jesus loved people and simply hate their own sin. Just say I have learned since posting this video and have had a change of heart. (1 month ago)

G.A.P. Display at Portland State University - Part 3
And why do you make an assumption based on my religion that I am nescesarily for capital punishment. I am against capital punishment because it clogs the legal system and is disporportioately executes minorities. You assume I am a fascist because I am Christian. Don't tar people with a brush as wide as yours. I happen to be a punker and am against some of the things American churches teach ( like preachers telling how you can live the good life) The point is that abortion is wrong. (2 months ago)

Taking Battlecry to the college campus
A university, by its very nature is no place for the supression of ideas, no matter how unpopular they are. Also, it depends on the subject matter of the class. Bible as lit by nature talks about religious subject matter. You know that when you signed up. I am talking about academic freedom of ideas in universities, such as the theory of intelligent design, which Hawkings tried to discredit by his bogus theory of multiple universes. Go see "Expelled" this spring. It is about academic freedom (4 months ago)

The fight is against principalities and powers, not flesh and blood. This video was just about underepresentation of Bible believing Christians on the PSU campus. The Bible says that homosexuality is a sin, and I agree with what the Bible says about the matter. There is so much trash and filth in the TV, movie and music industries (like 50 Cent and his gangsta rap and sex in ads every day) They don't care any about you, all they are after is your money. You know gluttony is a sin...
And don't give me any of that genetic obesity run in your family bullcrap. Unless your genetically predisposed to shoveling food in your mouth.
I'm sure some ethiopian children wish they could have that 'genetic defect.'

Fair enough, I am also curious about this self-loathing servility I see in the christian community, I thought humans were supposed to have been made in the "image of god", why then are humans inherently sinful?

In answer to your question, I would not want anyone to suffer at all, not even Jesus. When I see movies of the crucifixion, it makes me weep, and at the same time, very thankful that Jesus made that sacrifice on the cross to pay for my sins. In answer to your second question, I could not possibly be able to take Jesus' place on the cross because Jesus is the only one that is qualified due to his sinless life to undergo the full wrath of God on the cross and pay for people's sins. I could not even pay for my own sins if I was in Jesus' place because I myself have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. Only Jesus could have possibly been able to pay for the sins of every man, woman and child who ever lived because he lived a life of perfect obedience to God the Father.

jesusfreak0779, I have a hypothetical question for you.

If you had a choice, would you have wanted jesus to go through the suffering he allegedly did?

I ask this because it seems that this is the chief important act the character of jesus carried out, and a second question I have is would you have done the same for him?

These are not frivolous questions, I would like to hear your opinion on them. I am also a Computer Science student at Portland State University, I am an atheist as well.
