Kia Orana - Welcome

Turou! Turou! Turou!
Oro mai! Oro mai! Oro mai!
Turou e to te Kuki Airani
Akarongo mai! Akara mai! Tuatua mai!

My name is Jesse Evans. I was born on the island of Rarotonga, which is the capital of the Cook Islands.

Promoting the 15 islands in the Cook Islands...

The name 'Cook Islands' was given in honour of Captain James Cook, by Russian Admiral and Explorer Adam Johann von Krusenstern.

Each island presents it's own unique characteristics and beauty.

The Southern Island Groups are:

Rarotonga - Tumutevarovaro, is the capital of the Cook Islands; Mangaia - Au'au Enua, is the second largest island; Aitutaki - Araura Enua;
( These next 3 islands are known by their combined name Nga Pu Toru - Atiu - Enua Manu, Land of the birds; Mauke - Akatokamanava, Garden of the islands; Mitiaro - Nukuroa, Face of the ocean );
Manuae is a sanctuary; Takutea is a sanctuary; and Palmerston is a settlement for the William Marsters family

The Northern Island Groups are:

Pukapuka - Island of beautiful girls; Manihiki - Island of Pearls; Rakahanga - The undiscovered island; Penrhyn - Tongareva; Suwarrow - Treasure Island, A conservation reserve; and Nassau - Garden of Eden

"My Holiday Trip 2009 - March 16-25...Aitutaki was hot during the day and humid at night, but I enjoyed my trip there...the people were very friendly; Hooked up with Andrew Katu for a trip to Maina, One Foot Island, and Honey Moon Island; it was awesome" - "March 25-28...Atiu was nice and cool, friendly as locals; Our Taro Growers here are hard out planting and exporting their crop" - "March 30th-April 3rd Mauke's waters are beautiful; although the beach area can be small, it is unique, beautiful, nice, secluded, you can just about own it for a week" - "April 4th-14th Mangaia is beautiful; it's rocky landscape is unique, with it's white rock (koatu teatea), surely someone knows the exact name); we need pineapple growers as there is a demand for pineapple"

I invite anyone to come over and relax in the Cook Islands, and get away from the daily stress of the modern world. Put your feet up in Paradise and enjoy what the tropics has to offer.

So hurry over and allow yourself to be seduced into the peace and serenity of the pacific culture and lifestyle, the peace and quiet of the tropics, the warmth and hospitality of the locals who have become part of a unique piece of paradise, located in the middle of the Pacific.

Kia Orana! Mauruuru for your sweet comment! I'm more of a dancer than singer, but I can carry a tune! :-) Love your videos, too! I love Polynesian dancing, especially from the Cook Islands and Tahiti!
