This is why I've been away for two months! I was honored to be selected for the part of Yum-Yum for SWNCTA'S production of "THE MIKADO" March 12th-15th, 2009.

In "The Sun Whose Rays Are All Ablaze", Yum-Yum, in preparing for her wedding to Nanki-Poo, ponders her natural beauty, comparing herself to the sun and moon, and telling how she means to rule the earth!

The notes written are beautiful but the words are really quite funny, in fact on Friday evening our audience laughed during the song!

I hope you enjoy!

FROM WIKIPEDIA: "The Mikado" or, "The Town of Titipu" is a comic opera in two acts, with music by Arthur Sullivan and libretto by W. S. Gilbert, their ninth of fourteen operatic collaborations. It opened on March 14, 1885, in London, where it ran at the Savoy Theatre for 672 performances, which was the second longest run for any work of musical theatre and one of the longest runs of any theatre piece up to that time.

I will also add that my good friend, dl737 flew in for the show and attended two performances!! Talk about a blessing!!
