The audience laughed because he did the passage in reverse order. It's the same note on E, A, D, G, but at 2:13 he did E, G, D, A which is incredibly hard and nigh impossible (the way it's written is fiendish enough). He did it for added humor, and it's obvious that the people that laugh...

It's actually Antonio Stradivari, not Antonius. He Latinized his name on his labels, using Antonius Stradivarius. Same as Guarneri becoming Guarnerius.

She plays a violin made by J. B. Vuillaume, probably from the mid 1800's. Vuillaume was one of the greatest French violin makers alongside Nicolas Lupot, who is considered the French Stradivarius.

He definitely didn't. He played that first passage loud, and then the second time softer, so his expression changed to account for the character difference. He's a true actor. True to the music like the best singers in the world.
