- The Developer. Programmer. Engineer. Somewhat misunderstood, often stereotyped and depicted in popular media as nothing more than an introverted, awkward genius with limited social skills and an obsession with Sci-Fi and video games.
But is there more than meets the eye?
At Jelastic (the first company to deliver Platform-as-Infrastructure combining both PaaS and IaaS into a single, turnkey cloud solution) we take a different view. We believe in the charismatic developer, the fun developer, the Don Juan developer, the developer with a song in his or her heart and an unfinished screenplay on their laptop.
We are launching a search for The Most Interesting Developer In The World. Inspired in no small part by a series of ads for a (very tasty) beer, Jelastic has produced a series of videos and launched a competition to find developers that defy (or proudly reinforce) this stereotype in the most interesting, original or funny way.

for a chance to win some mediocre prizes but exceptional bragging rights. We'll pick two winners per month ("Dos Techies") and their stories will be featured on our website. The top 10 nominees will enter a final round where their peers will vote for the winner. The grand prize will be a co-starring role in our Holiday video installment of "The Most Interesting Developer In the World" (unless that makes them feel too anxious).
