Happy Birthday, Buddy! Miss you so much, wish I had been a little older to appreciate your music. But I'll always love "Peggy Sue" and this one, this is the quintessential Buddy Holly, "True Love Ways." I think I'm going to use this beautiful song as my first dance selection at my wedding. It i...

@Cch092775--Absolutely!!! They were the trailblazers, indeed. I remember buying this record, the 45 on the Scepter label in January, 1961 just days B4 JFK became president. I was trying to decide between this song and Poetry In Motion by Johnny Tillotson. I think I made the right choice. Still ...

@bjeffery08. Oh you bet, what a singer she was. She puts Mariah, Beyonce, and Alisha and Lady Gaga to absolute shame!!! And that is AWESOME about the picture! Wish I had one. But I DO have three (3) mint condition 78s of Jambalaya one of which is in my Wurlitzer 1450 48-play 78RPM jukebox. And on...

@Harlan346 Actually, Lawrence Welk's "Calcutta" was on the Dot label. It's in my Seeburg M100B jukebox. Oh does it sound great and yes as maynardcat said the De Castro Sisters were on Abbott. I have this same 78 you see spinning.

2agray Yes, it's really getting hard to repair these guys; we're talking about a machine over half a century years old. I have to admit I too want perfection all the time and sometimes forget what I'm dealing with. I'm lucky to have a great mechanic who has taught me a lot just watching him. I'm ...

You are right on!! Had it been 1960, no problem. Wow, can you imagine how busy Pete Seeger would have been with both the Weavers and Peter, Paul, and Mary??
I sure wish I had a 78 like the one playing of this song, would sound so-o-o- good in the 78 jukebox I have. Thanks so much for posting.
