Hi Jazzbeu55: There's a song that I've been looking for on YouTube but I have been unable to find it. It's called "Like A Sunday In Salem" (aka "The Amos and Andy Song") The refrain says:
There was a Lights Out Television Show
There was Amos and Andy on the Radio
And a little old man runnin' round, don't you know
Sayin' everybody here's got to go

Are you familiar with it?

As Always, I wish you a happy week!

Greetings Jazzbeu55: I appreciate your response to my e-mail and giving me some more information on these lovely and talented young ladies. I realize that what I'm about to mention I have already posted but perhaps you yourself could forward this suggestion. I think that these talented ladies would do wonderful versions of "He" "Royal Telephone" and "Though The Mountains May Fall" and I say this because you had mentioned that they are also religious ladies as well. I am fully aware that they probably get numerous suggestions for songs (I'll even toss in Van Morrison's "Crazy Love" too) to perform, but you can't blame me for putting in my two cents. Keep in touch...I enjoyed reading your e-mail, and have a great week!

TheAlbumcollector, you are probably right about the source of the Dillard's tune. I know I found it on someone's play list rather than through surfing. I hope you don't mind. I find that many of the Four Quarters fans have tastes in music that are similar to mine, so I do check many of their play lists rather than surfing for songs the hard way. I can add a 3 or 4 favorites an hour rather than 3 or 4 a week. In the case of the Dillard band, I remember them both from their appearances on Andy Griffith and at a theme park in Branson Missouri many years after that. From the first time I saw the Four Quarters I understood Lindsay was the star, even though she casts herself as a "role-player" most of the time. She has too much talent for it to stay hidden even at first glance. As I watched more videos, I began to appreciate her versatility. Even in a group so loaded with talent, Lindsay stands out as special.

Looking at your favorites, I see it is just the recent ones added that are in my list. Perhaps that is a coincidence. I love the Dillard's There Is A Time, but like the version with Charlene Darling singing on the Andy Griffith Show better. Great finding the old Statler Brothers videos as well. BTW, I believe that Lindsay has the strongest voice of the four girls, witness Can You Feel The Love Tonight as my reason.

Looking at your favorites makes me think you are checking out my favorites/history as every song I see you've selected are on my list. Anyway, regarding The Four Quarters, I hope they continue with their musical journey; but, they would not be the first to let it go, nor would they be the last. I have been involved with many talented groups over the years, and conflicting career goals has been the death of quite a few of them. Most especially when some members are content doing covers while others aspire to doing their originals. These girls are talented, but very much in the rough. Their debut CD due out soon will likely be professionally recorded, mixed, and mastered (unlike the videos we've been privy to). Hopefully they won't be trying to drown each other out as sometimes seems to be the case in the videos. Still, I'm very happy to see some young people keeping the genre alive. Only time will tell where they will go.

Hi Jazzbeu55 - I just spent a good 45 minutes writing you a detailed response to your message to me and it dumped!!! I'm getting ready to go on vacation for a couple of weeks and probably won't be near a computer. I'll write again after I come back. - Chas
