    Midnight Resistance - Atari St

Adaptation assez réussie de l'excellent jeu d'arcade. Il ne manque plus que le stick rotatif.

    JasperAbraxxious JasperAbraxxious commented:

@JasonLee310 ? :) The whole idea of a port is to replicate the original as closely as possible. If the original scrolled, then a "port" that cannot even scroll is obviously poorer than a port that CAN replicate the scrolling.

The sound in the ST version is terrible - YM was never any good, has n...

    Hey there, nice video.

I just purchased an Atari Falcon. I have installed a 16 gb compactflash card to ide for the main hard drive and have upgraded the 4mb onboard to 14 mb.

My question is this: What OS are you running (looks much more advanced than Multi Tos), and which is the most advanced ...

    Falcon - Atari St

Excellent simulation d'avion de chasse sur Atari St.

    JasperAbraxxious JasperAbraxxious commented:

@xnonsuchx This is true for the earlier 3d games. Later though. programmers figured out they could use the Amigas blitter to fill in polygons quickly, and so even though the Amiga had a slightly slower cpu, it became considerably faster at 3d games than the ST.

    Atari Messe 1992-Falcon 030

Lancement du Falcon 030, Atari Messe 1992

    JasperAbraxxious JasperAbraxxious commented:

@blade004 The Falcon is a fantastic machine (and expensive to buy now - cost me $600 USD for mine!), but it not more powerful than the A1200. They are actually pretty much neck and neck.

The Falcon has better sound using the DSP, the A1200 has a larger colour palette and more flexible screenmode...

    Turrican 2 atari ST

I look at Turrican 2 on the Atari ST 520.

    JasperAbraxxious JasperAbraxxious commented:

@SuperGrahamw : Yessum, however, the simple open architecture of the St can work to its advantage. I remember being amazed the first time I heard an St running a Sif player emulation to play C64 Sids. The St/Ste etc can pre mix more channels than the hardware supports, and then play the mixed cha...

@Archimedes75009 Yes dickhead! And how many of these amazing hardware sprites can it handle? One? Wow, can you name a single game in history consisting of a single sprite?! :)

If nothing else you are giving us a good giggle. :) Cheers. :)

Zarch Acorn Games Video Archive A3010/TV Card

The late 80s shooter Zarch. This one really showed off the new Archimedes at the time.

    JasperAbraxxious JasperAbraxxious commented:

@DevilMaster : Nope, identical graphics - read the reviews of Virus at the time, they actually just ported all the models etc to the Amiga. Runs faster and smoother than on a basic A500 though. On an A1200 it is faster and smoother again.

Speedball 2 Acorn Games Video Archive A5000/VGA

A quick video of the Acorn running through a demo of Speedball 2, conversion by Krisalis.

    JasperAbraxxious JasperAbraxxious commented:

@Archimedes75009 : pixel independant rendering is great, especially for games that use texture mapping, such as Doom etc, but it is hopelessly slow and inefficient for moving large chunks of gfx data in memory - this is the job of the Blitter, which is sadly missing in the Arch/Risc series.
