It was the most majestic sight any young boy could experience. Her melodic voice had the crowd in a trance so deep that not even the sound of a thunderstorm could break it away. Then, she hit that note that transformed the crowd from onlookers into alluring fans, applauding profusely at her stellar performance. It was at that moment, while watching his older sister perform, that 12 year old Jarvis Shaffer knew that music was his destiny. "She sang a record, and she had the crowd in the palm of her hand. I didn't know people could do that with their voice... it was right then I knew that's what I wanted to do," and that he did as the very first R&B artist signed to the President of Def Jam South's *We The Best Music Group*. At the tender age of 21, the Tulsa Oklahoma native is currently perfecting his debut album Cardiology and working with some of the best notables in the industry such as, Tha Bizness, Adonis Shopshire, Dre & Vidal, Static/Major, Deron of 112, Rock City, and The Runners. This young emerging megastar is not only vocally gifted; his humble yet charismatic personality makes him a favorite amongst his fans, men and women alike. Not to mention he is incredibly handsome and definitely has the ability to be heartbreaker in his years to come.

Earning his place on the "We The Best" music roster was not an easy task. At the age of 15 Jarvis moved to Atlanta. On the outside, Jarvis gave the impression as if he were a normal teenager, but while most of his peers were hanging out with friends, Jarvis was prepping for stardom. "I was in school; I was on the basketball team. I was a normal kid by day, but at night I was in the studio learning how to write, taking vocal lessons, I was in dance classes. Every day was it was something different... it was like I was in a bootcamp." Those many hours of hard work paid off when he landed his first record deal with music mogul Jermaine Dupri's So So Def Recordings in 2004. Later that year, Jarvis debuted the music video for his first single "Radio". The young star captivated audiences with his harmonious voice, long hair, and adorable smile. Regrettably Jarvis never got a chance to release his debut album. A short time after, Jermaine Dupri became the Vice President of Virgin Music Group. With J.D's separation from the label, Jarvis along with other artists were left at a standstill.

Left with a dream deferred, Jarvis continued to work hard perfecting his strengths and improving his weaknesses. Not long after, Jarvis would be back on track to superstardom as he got a foot in the door at Disturbing The Peace Records, powered by Grammy Award winner Ludacris and his manager/ C.E.O Chaka Zulu. Through intense negotiations, Jarvis proved himself to be strong willed and in control of his music, so strong that he was able to convince Chaka Zulu to have Ludacris make a cameo on his second single "Pretty Girl" and to become an official artist of DTP.

The relationship between DTP and Jarvis dissolved a short time after the release of "Pretty Girl" and left Jarvis with a greater understanding of the business behind the music. Despite these obstacles, Jarvis continued chasing his dream and joined forces with former So So Def Executive Kadife Sylvester, a big time heavy hitter in the game. His numerous industry connections and years of experience have proven to be recipe for success; as he delivered Jarvis right to the doorstep of the current president of Def Jam South. As C.E.O of "We The Best Music", DJ Khaled is a prominent and powerful figure in the music industry and well known for promoting artists to the max. After Jarvis sang his heart out for Khaled, he said "I prayed this morning for a superstar....let's do it!", Jarvis was signed immediately. Now backed by a power team of Kadife and Khaled, Jarvis is leaving no stone unturned as he goes full speed ahead into becoming the megastar that he is!
