Jay Rikoshae was born in NC on base in Jacksonville. His dad was a Marine and shortly after he moved to CA, in southern San Diego. At around age 8 is when he moved to Grand Rapids, MI. He attended OSLS until 8th grade, WMLHS as a freshman, East Kentwood High School as a freshman and Sophmore, and finally a Junior at GR Montessori in the basement of Central. Jay Rikoshae got his GED in Jail in May of 2008.

Jay Rikoshae started into rap as a profession in late 2006, teaming up with RCR and Young Krakatoa. Some material was produced (including Pussy, Hoe, Rise of Rikoshae, and Off The Dome) all of which were under the rap team's name 'Partners in Rhyme' consisting of only Jay Rikoshae and Young Krakatoa.
Following that phase in Jay Rikoshae's career he felt he really needed to be self reliant with his music and worked independently under the label 'Rikoshae Rekords' the material that released was much of his old material repackaged and ready for the publics eye. (tracks like Girl, U Want Me, Midget Dick, Sylunatic, and A Peer)
After much debating Jay Rikoshae knew he needed support for his career and finally decided upon joining up with Sylune Productions as he pressed onward for his full fledged album. The material that was released is considered his step up in the rap game, he has said that "...my flows are finally unique to me and come naturally when Im behind a microphone, and my voice is sounding the best it ever has". He also went on to say that "Sylune is definitely the best studio Ive recorded in, Im very impressed with the engineers there"
Since 2007 Jay Rikoshae has only ever publicly released 1 single per year (Girl in '07, Midget Dick in '08, and Do You in '09), he plans on a full album release in 2010, he is currently in the studio at Sylune Productions teaming up with lots of local landmarked musicians for a very promising release day next year.
