Bio:
I started Dj'ing in 2009 after I went to my first underage and decide that I wanted to do it because I felt passionate about music, and I had no idea about what Dj'ing was before this. I loved seeing the crowds reactions to what the Dj was playing and creating on stage and just everything about the atmosphere in the club.
I started out like most people with just buying a cheap mixer and cd players and had fun mixing tunes and finding what was good and bad about mixing. I played around on my cheap gear for about 8-12 months every night for a couple of hour's minimum and really loved creating my own space with the music. In 2010 I purchased quality pioneer gear after researching for months about all different types. I used my savings from when I was a child to purchase the $2000 equipment and have never regretted it. As I progressed onto the pioneer's I found out a whole lot more about Dj'ing and kept on loving it and creating new ways to mix and make the music flow.
I first heard glitch, funky bass and dubstep like genre's off of a friend in the middle of 2010 and fell in love with it as well as broadening my horizons to all different styles of music including Hip-hop, rap, DnB and House. I now enjoy listening to and mixing a whole range of music, including classic songs from the 60's through to new age electronica.
I started producing songs with the help of my music class at school in 2009. We would create simple songs on the programs at school (mainly Sony Acid and Sibelius), using pre-recorded loops and sounds. I broadened my horizons of music production by watching countless hours of YouTube videos and researching about different programs to use. I downloaded Ableton Live after a reference from a friend and began to try and understand all the different buttons and the basic interface of the program. I've been using Ableton ever since and I have found it much easier to use now that I know more about it. However there are always things that I don't know how to do as the program has endless possibilities in what it can do. I now produce and record my own tracks and remixes using Ableton and Pro Tools and am getting better at it as I continue on creating more tunes and getting more involved in my work.
