James Grande is a versatile singer/songwriter. Over the years, he has been able to translate his experiences into captivating and personal songs. He cites many bands and musicians who have influenced him, some of which include Weezer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Guster, Dave Mathews Band, Third Eye Blind, 311, and Sublime. Based out of Narragansett, Rhode Island, he began playing guitar while still in high school. He is a self-taught musician with occasional guidance who displays a great amount of perseverance with everything he tries to accomplish. He recorded his first full-length album with only a small computer based microphone and was able to sell and distribute it to a select amount of people. By the end of his freshman year in college, he was becoming more familiar with the recording process and was able to record a 10 track CD of completely original songs which was distributed to over 500 people. As James Grande was steadily improving as a songwriter, his fanbase was also growing at a significant rate. By the summer of 2005, James was playing shows at coffee houses around New England. In October of 2006, James set up a benefit concert for the Sam Spady Foundation, which was able to raise a substantial amount of money for the cause. James is looking forward to the future and where it will take him as a musician. He is currently working on material for a new full-length album which will be recorded in 2007. James is making sure to solidify his place as one of the premier artists to watch and listen for in the future.
