James "Big Chief" Wetherington, passed away about 1973 in Nashville, TN. and I attended the NQC in Nashville that year-but it wasn't the same without The Chief who had it all-a low voice, the best rythym of any bass ever in gospel music IMO,stage showmanship and was an ideal quartet man.
