About Me:
I am a professional belly dancer and entertainer at local Moroccan restaurants up and down the Colorado Front Range, including Mataam Fez and Tajine Alami in Colorado Springs.
Education
I've been dancing since I was 4 years old. My background includes tap, jazz, ballet, and ballroom dancing. I received "traditional" training in belly dance, but due to my varied experience I occasionally includes some "fusion" in my dance style and instruction.
Videos
The videos loaded on YouTube are varied. Most are from shows and local performances. The Desert Journey performance is my personal favorite. The video runs about 10 minutes and the song has many musical movements bringing forth several styles of belly dance.
I would love any feedback you can give, especially on "Saiidi" and "Habibi Balad." What do you think of the songs? This is the beginning of a very special project with Michael Kimbrell to produce an instructional dance video and CD compilation. The intent of the project is to bring new faces to belly dance by approaching them at their comfort level. So we are introducing traditional technique and rhythms with a Western music flare.

I love it all. For belly dance....well it depends on the day and the venue. I keep to traditional music for the restaurant scene. But for parties and shows I love to mix-it-up. In some of my favorite routines I have danced to: Madonna, The Eagles ("Hotel California" - the slow version), U2 (the extended tabla version), and Cirque du Soleil. Anything that inspires me is up for grabs!
Books:
There is a great book out there called "Snake Arms." Definitely a must for the dancer.
