Jaime De Villota wrote, produced, and directed the independent motion picture THE PRAYER, an experimental film produced with an exceedingly limited budget. THE PRAYER was selected for the New York International film and video festival and the promotion platinum package for the Cannes film festival in 2001. This screenplay was highly recommended by the Chairman of Film and Television from UCLA, professor Richard Walter, considered as one of the best screenwriting professors in the United States.
In August 2003, Jaime De Villota produced and directed the LATIN PRIDE documentary for public and private television. A variety of celebrities took part in this significant project; such as Los Angeles City Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Paulina Rubio, La Sonora Dinamita, and California senator Dianne Feinstein.
Another highlight of his career was the publication of his book of poems entitled Poetry of An Émigré In Los Angeles and the writing and production of TV commercials and infomercials. Jaime was also one of the prestigious Nicholl Screenwriting Fellowship finalists with his project: ILLEGAL.
