Jade Elektra (aka Alphonso King) a native of New York City for 17 years, moved to Toronto after getting married in April 2010. A member of the Screen Actors Guild, this recording artist and female impersonator has quite a few accomplishments under her belt. From television appearances on Sex In The City & New York Undercover to movie roles in To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar, Party Girl, and Jane Doe to performing with recording artists such as Beyonce and Cyndi Lauper, Jade Elektra has established a name for herself.

In 2002, she made a major transition from caberet singer and nightclub act to the Off-Broadway stage. First with a small part in Beverly Bonner's hit play, Manhattan Towers with a character she created called Paprika Jones. Then came the lead in Happy Birthday, Madam Alberta (written by Robert Jackson for Black Pride NYC Generations celebration). And finally in a one-woman show specifically written for her by Francisco Kali called Daddy's Little Girl (which was featured in the Blatino Playwrights Festival at the Bronx Academy of Art & Dance).

She recently just finished with a year's run of her successful variety show JADED at Crews & Tangos where she featured some of Toronto's finest and most creative talents.

And on June 24th, 2011 her debut album which featured hits like "Bitch You Look Fierce" and "Why Are You Gaggin'?", Proud Mary was re-released as a special 10th Anniversary Edition featuring five bonus tracks. On December 1st, 2010 she debut her controversial HIV awareness single called "H-I-Vogue" on CKLN 88.5 on the Limin' With Verlia Show for World AIDS Day. And from the looks of things, this is only the beginning for Ms. Elektra.
