A few words about myself;
I have an honest but amateur interest in science and technology. I'm very concerned about our long term survival as a species and believe that the XXI century will present us with challenges greater than any other in our history. How should we go about solving the problems of climate change, peak oil and transitioning our species from an unsustainable existence we're in to a sustainable one without negatively impacting our overall quality of life?
My other issue is with nationalism and religion. But I'm not sure whether these two arbitrary forms of division foster and enhance our primitive flock mentality or whether they themselves are merely the manifestations of it.
Politicalcompass.org indicates that I'm a left (5.14) social libertarian (4.2).
I wouldn't pay much heed to these labels. Don't ever let your political affiliation cloud your judgment.

Hello my Friend. I couldn't wait for success... so I went ahead without it. There is no point at which you can say, "Well, I'm successful now. I might as well take a nap." Have a most rewarding and beneficial week. Cosmic smiles.

I don't espouse doomsday scenarios like many other peak oilers and never have. I wrote my channel description almost 2 years ago and since then have come to believe that peak oil will be a lot less painful than I originally thought. Of course peak oil is going to happen, it's inevitable and we have already seen it happen on a smaller, national scale many times. Just look at the statistics of national oil production of most countries (especially the developed nations; those were the first to hit their peak).
