Briefly, I come from old money, but it never helped me with school or anything. I paid my own way through a very expensive private university. Before graduating, I was independently wealthy... on paper! I didn't liquidate in time (greed I guess, wanted higher bids) and lost almost all of it in the DOTcom crash. My girlfriend wasn't very happy! No more spontaneous trips for a while, lol! Then a LOT of stuff happened, and now I'm reclaiming my empire ;)
