I absolutely love free speech =)
About Me:

Admirer to free and critical thinkers everywhere. You are indeed free to believe whatever religion you want, it's part of being free ~ Nobody has the right to take that away from you.

But the very *second* that religion effects your moral judgement on a situation, especially involving people -- You'll be hearing what I have to say about it, namely pointing out how blind this delusion has made you.

Then people go as far as to do heinous and vile crimes in the name of their God all while believing their actions were just.

There's a reason many of us are fed up with society's tolerance of religion. Religion with a few followers? A cult. Religion without any followers? A myth. My belief? Religion has no place in free and progressive society.

A favorite quote: "Good people do good things, evil people do evil things ~ But if you want good people to do evil things, *that* takes religion."

To add to that ~ name me one good thing a religious person can do that an someone without religion can't.

I love Science, I love philosophy. I'll trust the vast majority of gifted scientists and the brightest minds this planet has to offer ~ unless there is unanimously agreed upon evidence to the contrary. This is how science works, and how it improves and why you're able to use all the technology and medicine you use today ~ be a little thankful :p

I don't believe in astrology, palm reading, fairies, reincarnation (or resurrection) ghosts, spirits, angels, demons, Heaven, Hell, Zeus, Apollo, Vishnu, Shiva, Allah, or Yahweh.

To those with faith -- I doubt you can possibly believe all of these either, so you know what it is like to be a non-believer or an atheist towards a certain belief.

I (along with 15% of the population) just happen to go one deity or one God further =)

I'm still open to the existence of a creator, but as it stands ~ there isn't a shred of proof for such a thing. If anyone had such knowledge, they'd earn an easy Nobel prize.

Absence of evidence is routinely evidence of absence.

Except for me... there would be an exception to Pastafarianism. I have been among the many touched by the FSM's noodly appendage. You can't disprove his existence either, it's quite impossible ~ Ramen =)

Just saw that comment you posted on fivethirty's channel. YES. Thank you. I was arguing with that idiot about his "first question to ask an atheist" or whatever video and he does the plug-your-ears-and-go "LALALALALALALALALALALAAAA I CAN'T HEAR YOUUUU!!!! YOU ARE ILLOGICAL!!!!" thing. It's so annoying, I just don't get how people like that exist. Seriously fucking stupid.

3 things: 1] Philosophically consistent atheists are nihilists. 2] I never said what my criticism was of their quotes in the video - I allowed them to stand as they are without comment - which means it's more prudent to ask than assume what I'm getting at. 3] The point I would make is not that they are depressing comments but that they are consistent pieces of thinking based on atheistic premises - so congratulations to these thinkers first off. Also that none of them can manage to live this philosophy they espouse. Not because it was "depressing" but because it is just completely self-evident that life is full of meaning and purpose and right and wrong and that is the philosophical and existential problem for philosophically adept atheism.

I suppose 505853 hasn't read the bible? You know, where God created Adam and Eve knowing in advance they'd eat from the tree of knowledge (fail 1) then flooding the planet to wipe clean all his first children's mistake (fail 2) then down the tower of Babel, though translating is common these days (fail 3) and of course Jesus' death for our sins because God screwed up so many times before (epic fail 4) -- there's countless others... Like Mr. Dillahunty puts it ~ The Bible's a constant comedy of failures from this God character, he just can't get it right. Failblog is popular for much the same reasons =)

God has never failed. We humans are the ones to blame. God gave us free will to do his biging or not, to love Him or not. Adam and Eve made a concioous descision to disobey God. Noah, After beong on the Ark, made a consious descision to get drunk with wine. Not only that, his daughters had sexual relations tith him. God is perfect. Man is not. That is why He sent Jesus, to atone for human flaws.
