Brilliant!!. Those were the days. BR didn't keep them in service long enough. Some built in 1960 then withdrwan before they had really been run in.

Can't complain about the Class 55's replacing the Streaks tho. 50 years on and still running.

What can I say. Absolutely First Class you lucky chap. Unfortunately I could not get down that weekend and looked just what I missed. Big Mistake. Something very special that most likely will never be repeated. All well I'll just need to keep watching clips on You Tube.

People do mistakes but it was not critical. I know it should have been described as a Double Yellow but railway enthusiasts don't always get it right. Enjoy the video instead.

Sheer twin Napier Power ringing in one's ears. That's why the Deltics are still so special. 29 years on after their withdrawal and we still go out in droves when we hear they are on a charter. Nothing but the best compared to today's Garbage.

Fantastic and amazing how you managed to put all this together in just over 41 minutes but why the loud music. The sound of the Napiers were sufficient but were slightly drowned out in parts of the footage. Anyway thanks for posting. I still rate this A++++++++++++++++

It's fantastic to see 55002 fired up again after all those years. Well done to all the volunteer's in the KOYLI GROUP and the National Railway Museum for all the hard spent hours dedicated to restoring life to the best ever locos commissioned by BR. T he CLass 55's!!!!.

That was great footage from a Class 50 fanatic. Loved the shot going down the gradiant towards the tunnel then running round the curve into Euston.

The crowd on the platform at Edinburgh shows just how much interest still exists in the majestic Napiers. Brilliant one of the best posted on You Tu...

Even better if it had been a Deltic bringing the train in to Kings Cross like the good old days.

Just shows the lack of interest shown with a Leckie at the Helm.

Now if it had been a Deltic then the platform would have been crowded.

A Deltic would have done the same journey in the same time if not better.

Deltic 22 or D9000 as I knew her had a unique sounding Horn compared to the rest of the class 55's. Awesome Power Taboot.

Nice to see the best Napier take the initiative over a Hoover. Class 55022 or D9000 as I remeber it still reigns supreme 29 years on after withdrawal on the ECML.

Hoover a favourite. I reckon they should keep going over the hill and disappear. Those class 50's couldn't touch a Class 55 Deltic.
