Jenny (Ji-Sun) Kim is currently a Senior attending Indiana University Jacobs School of Music majoring in vocal performance (Class of 2010). She started studying voice around 8th grade. She attended Manhattan School of Music Precollege her junior and senior year in high school and decided to pursue her career in classical music. She also attended Boston University Tanglewood Institute the summer of 2005 which has impacted her life tremendously as well. She is currently training to be a Soprano - Coloratura.

Jenny has performed the roles of Susanna from Marriage of Figaro, Peep-Boh from The Mikado, Gilda from Rigoletto, Flora from The Turn of the Screw, Cosette from Les Misereable, Amalia from She Loves Me, Sarah Brown from Guys and Dolls, Rosina from The Barber of Seville, Tytania from The Midsummer Night's Dream, Adele from Die Fledermaus and Olympia from The Tales of Hoffman. Fall of 2008 she was the soprano soloist with the IU UChorale for Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle under the direction of Maestro Gary Thor Wedow. Fall of 2009, she was the soprano soloist of a Haydn mass with the Catskill Choral Society in NY, Jenny also made her debut at the IU Opera Theater as Papagena in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte.

Jenny has worked with numerous voice coaches and directors such as [in chronological order] Lorraine Nubar, Amy Goldstein, Gordon Ostrowski, LeAnn Overton, Angela Gooch, Phyllis Hoffman, Annie Chang, Matthew Larson, Alison Tupay, Gary Durham, Jane Olian, Eric Van Tielen, Sylvia McNair, Lori McCann, Dora Orhenstein, Rachel Garcia, Jon Fredric West and is currently under the direction of Sylvia McNair and Mary Ann Hart.

She has won awards and scholarships such as [in chronological order] the National Vocal Competition in Korea (1st), The National School Choral Award, The National John Philip Sousa Band Award, Don Sites Scholarship, The PTA Arts Scholarship, and The NYSCAME-Suffolk Scholarship. She has also taken part of NYSCAME and All-State Choirs throughout her high school career, MSM Prep Merit Scholarship, IUJSOM Merit Scholarship, Long Island Symphony Concerto Competition (Honorable Mention), and was recently named the winner of the Agnus H. Black Award of the Indianapolis Matinee Musicale Competition in 2010.
