my lights still run off the ac side .
but it wouldn't matter.
mine works great ..
just use the rectifier to convert the ac to dc current to charge the battery ..
highest spike is 14. 25 this is a common use on boat engines .

lean it out raise needle clip to the top to lower needle .
if it inproves check plug you want plug tan in color if it's black still to rich .
might change main jett just drop one size at a time ..
but if your running a cold plug you can try a hotter plug this is a simple way to lean the mixture ...

i just started the odyssey held a razor blade at an angle on the belt and let it cut it to fit .
wider belt you will loose a little stall speed on front belt .
