I saw Secretariat win the Derby in 1973 and thought I'd seen the greatest horse in ever, especially after that Belmont run. I'll always treasure that memory, but I sure wish I had seen Ruffian run. Watching this takes my breath away and makes my heart soar in a way it didn't even for Secretariat.

Ashbrook Tell Me a Faerytail, Max, was our "foster son" dog. Whenever his family went out of town, he came to stay with us, fitting seamlessly into our home and our lives. Our Jasper was seven when Max first came to stay and 14 yrs when he last saw Max, but he still tried to play with him. Max passed away on Saturday at age 9 and is now playing with Jasper and the rest of the English Cocker crew forever. Rest in peace. You are missed.

Lost Jemma in Feb. 2010 at 15 yrs. I'll never forget that wonderful, wacky girl. She still makes us laugh. I'm glad I made the movie before we lost her, because I couldn't do it now.

About JGSchenck's channel
Tessie is now 3 1/1 yrs old and is a therapy dog. We visit a retirement home every 2 wks. I sit and talk to the residents while they pet her. Since many of them had to give up their pets when they moved in, it means a lot to them. But I get more out of the visits than they do.
