Ah Maria. I am sorry to say you miss the mark. The pianissimo and legato is not good. There are considerable shortcomings and where is the coloratura? Forgive me but you are also off key and breath control is none.

And the winner is...Lucia Popp for her rendition of Ruhe Sanft, Mein Holdes Leben (Mozart, Zaide). A high level of technical and aesthetic excellence is realized in this piece.

The playing of Bach is perfection...No, it cannot be explained by ordinary means and is indeed preternatural. Strange at certain times, evocative, and undeniably beautiful. When it comes to Bach, no other pianist comes close....It can only be perfection.

Perfect modulation and timing. The overall quality is introspective but not brooding....sensual and yet dark. An interpretation that conveys yearning, intimacy and passion. In my opinion, Drzewiecki rivals Horowitz in this piece....Sobresaliente.

Lacks emotional depth. I like Alexander Desplat compositions, but this music has but a thin veneer of superficial intimacy. This is NOT what love is like. My suggestion for those that want to cry and curse is to explore true literature and the numerous excellent compositions before becoming s...

Rachmaninoff is not my favorite for Chopin (Rubenstein), but this interpretation is notable. Sergei captures the wistful, contemplative and at times sad mood of Chopin perfectly...especially the spiraling trill as the floating end notes fade to nothing! Talk about romantic!
