My Mom actually had this hair dryer, and I found it tonight clearing out their basement! I turned it on and the sound brought me right back to the mid 60's... I could fall asleep listening to it. :-)

I don't think anyone would argue that there are more technically proficient drummers out there. There are also drummers with better feel ,concepts and better groove too. Now how about the effect he has had on popular culture? Now he gets mentioned in the same breath as Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Rin...

@champiforest with all due respect to the late great John Bonham ,Tony Thompson and Phil Collins don't have to take a back set to anyone. Both those guys are (were in Tony's case) legends on the drums themselves and it will be recorded as such in the history of rock. They certainly weren't there ...

I've got the same drum, only in the Red Sparkle which matches my Yamaha MCAN Red Sparkle kit perfectly. These drums are great bang for the buck. With the retro finishes I refer to mine as a poor man's Radio King! ;-) The sound is wonderful and in my opinion were one of the better deals out there ...

@tmg1968 You'll have to check out Brass Transit too. They are made up from some of the best musicians in Toronto. They pay close attention to detail and sound very close to the original recordings. They have some here on You Tube too.

@SounnGa Alan White of Yes used to use a 2 octave set with his kit. Check him out with Yes, early 70's. You can hear him playing them on "Soundchaser" from the Relayer album.

Very cool sound. Have the same drum with an Aquarian frosted head on it. Sounds quite different then yours, I guess that's a testament to the versatility of the drum. Thanks for posting this! Cheers.

I've got one of these, and it's a lot more versatile then you would think. Excellent on rock gigs and as you can hear it has a really nice quite ping at low volume.

I bought mine back in 1984... you can have it when you pull it out of my cold dead hand. ;-)

I always felt Kenny Jones never got the respect he deserved. Of course he didn't have the wild abandon of Keith Moon, but the 2 albums he cut with them grooved like none before.
