@mrdominicsee If you look it's actually not much higher thabn chin height and if you're in a good stance you will have to bend your knees so it's actually training to punch at the level you'd be aiming at were you to be sparring or fighting. As well as the other reasons listed!

About IvyMartialArts's channel
This is Ivy Martial Arts, a new name for an old concept. Essentially a hybrid system which draws on Taekwondo, Boxing and other systems. The aim is not to create a "new" martial art, that would be re-inventing the wheel. It's just our take on martial arts in all forms. Instead of teaching a set of techniques and a style to use we teach techniques so that once learnt and practiced in many different situations one can work out which techniques work best for the individual, the idea being that the martial art fits the martial artist like a glove rather than the martial artist trying to force him or herself to "fit" the art. Hence the name, "Ivy Martial Arts" Ivy grows on buildings and trees etc, and it takes the form of whatever it grows on fitting it like a glove. It does not force that which it grows on to change shape to suit it. Same with martial arts, you learn a system and make it work for you depending on your physical abilities and temperament.
