Born & raised in Canoga Park, California, Decifer is no stranger to the cliché rap lifestyle, he grew up and watched and researched a lot of hip hop. His biggest and most influences was Snoop Doog, Jay-z, Mobb Deep, Nas, Tupac, Mos Def, 50 Cent and Kanye West. He also got introduced to Big L & J. Dilla to Big Daddy Kane & Spice 1. However, he grew up as a quite child he watched and analyzed others that were around him in such a young age. When Decifer turned to the age of 15 he started spitting flows with no microphone or recording studio. Decifer started taking his music much serious by making a studio by the age of 19.
"Decifer" (Decipher) the nickname was given by himself around the year 2008. He perused the name when he was enrolled in a CAHSEE prep class. Decifer stood proud letting his closes friends know that was him. Raised by his Mother & Father, Decifer was exposed to soulful records such as those from Marvin Gaye, and Billy Stewart, in addition to the sudden wave of 90's "Gangsta Rap", as well as East Coast talent.
Since that time music has changed drastically, but not Decifer's ear for quality, as he began making his debut with some local raps, and writing when the opportunity presented itself. His music today, is drawing little by little fans. Decifer speaks from his heart & his emotions & what he's been through. Decifer is still up and ready for this game so expect big things for all the years to come for him.
